The large body of work produced by Armando Adrian-Lopez combines the representational with the symbolic to form images that are readily understood. The meanings that are multi-layered, narrative & dream-like. A Tarascan/Purepecha Mexican native, Armando is a nationally recognized artist. He draws his visual imagery from his life experiences, from both his childhood & as an adult. The bold palette & soft edges create a dream-like visual environment of his paintings and mixed media assemblages invite the viewer to feel and interpret deeper meanings. His focus most of his attention on Oil Painting & 3D Mixed-Media Assemblage. He occasionally uses his storytelling and theatrical skills to create performance art. For the past two decades, Armando has been living and producing his work at his studio in Abiquiu, New Mexico. His work is in many private collections worldwide.
Armando Adrian-Lopez’s work is also in The Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) in Long Beach, California, and the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. At this time, he is not represented by any galleries, but prefers the personal touch of selling his work and often will exhibit his work at pop-up galleries in New York, Los Angeles, and Santa Fe.
